In stellaris, i love the idea that we can change whether our government is going to purge a place, or if we'll allow internal/external migration. but i'm also curious if we'll have an extended amount of laws, allowing to govern the social structure in our Empires/Republics/Federations/whatever government form you can think of. what i mean by this is similar to how many countries today govern their societies. in one country it might be perfectly acceptable to discriminate a certain group, but in another country it's against the law to say offensive or racist slurs, and in one country it's fine, or even promoted to show public displays of affection, but in another country, it's illegal to even hold hands. i'd like to see this form of governance in societies in the game, at some point at least. i think we'd see a great amount of immersion with this feature and it would help with peace-time mechanics. (most modern country have certain laws regarding social conduct, regardless of the government form)

what about an expansion that look more the internal issues with the pops, like.. education, and social affairs between the aliens or something like vic 2 ... what do you think about it?

i do like your thinking but i am concerned that if you added in that level of detail on a pop by pop basis that it would end up stealing focus from the larger game. it would lead to hours of pause time while you were tinkering, thats fine if you are playing solo i suppose but would not work in a multi player game.

personally i play to play solo anyway, but i still think it might be a bit too much to do.

We haven't seen many of them in the Blorg stream, but I wonder how many edicts there are in the game, and how they might play into rounding out the societal aspect of your people. I mean, ultimately, they'll just be numeric boosts and penalties, but there's a roleplay aspect to be had, too.

i think i agree with you on that, but there could be a compomise somewhere between being really complex and detailed and being one big button for a society to say "no going here". i just feel this could add some depth to the game, and give your governments some character
