Do you think that each democracy will have a neutral party, a fascist party, a comintern party, and an allies party to support to help players decide their country's destiny? I say this because it would be an interesting way for democracies to be able to eventually start offensive wars. It would also be a way for interesting ahistorical variations to happen in single player with the AI supporting different types in various play throughs.

Every country has an facist, communist and democratic party. Neutral parties cant be elected.

You have advisors for each ideology which lets you drift towards the ideology you want or ideologies can also be supported by foreign countries. Changing your ideology can cause an civil war, while an coup supported by an foreign country always will result in an civil war. The rebells army strenght is determined by the amount of equipment they recieved and how many states join them initialy by how popular they were in the country. In both cases you can choose your side if an civil war is triggered.

Each country will also change its name and flag depending on its ideology. The (democratic) United Kingdom for example changes into the facist British Empire, (democratic) Norway changes into (communist) Norwegian People's Republic, etc.

Johan for example tweeted pictures and comments about his japan, italy and norwegian campaign on twitter. One of the first things he did was choosing an communist advisor and eventually became Norwegian People's Republic and eventually invaded sweden with the help of the soviets.

There we go... first minister slot a communist revolutionary..

And now.. while building up the Industry.. We have a coup!

The Norwegian Peoples Republic lack factories and steel.. I think we need to adjust the borders with the Swedes..

Though that wouldn't be very representative of each countries' situations, Japan, for example, had a coglomerate of pro-nationalism MPs from both sides of the old two parties joined by brass militarists and headed by a young noble, and the opposition that was strong enough to try a coup was rank-and-file ultranationalists driven by a strongly socialist ideal that somehow is also pro-emperor and anti-anglo, meanwhile a good deal of anti-militarist managed to get elected to the lower house, though not in numbers big enough to rock the boat.

Switzerland don't start with neutral party in charge. Neither do Sweden or USA. These countries start with national spirits that enforce their neutrality (for Sweden and Switzerland) or isolationist economy law (USA).
