I started Ironman game in 867 as Duke of Axum with King of Abyssinia as my liege (we are same dynasty).

Now it`s 995. I`m Duke of Axum and Sanaa, have 5500 soldiers (with vassals), earning 10 coins monthly. I have a wife who is 40+ years old, gavelkind law, and 5 daughters.

My liege is King of Abyssinia. He has about 7000 soldiers and earning 7 coins monthly.
Muslim rulers stopped attacking us long time ago because we are powerful enough to defend our land.

But the best thing is that my oldest daughter is the mother of my liege, and he is my only grandson!
So I guess when the time comes, I will play as King of Abyssinia.

But in order not to blew all up, I`ll ask you some questions first.

When my grandson becomes old enough he will become my heir instead of my daughter or not?

If current ruler dies, I`ll lose one duchy to one of my many daughters and my liege will become their liege (King of Abyssinia)?
If that is correct I guess I wont be able to get that Duchy back by war because we will have same liege???

No. She'll inherit first and you'll play as her. But he'll inherit her titles when she dies, assuming she doesn't have any more children (that might confuse things).

Yes, your two duchies will be split up. Your eldest will get Axum, your second will get Sanaa.

If that is correct I guess I wont be able to get that Duchy back by war because we will have same liege???
Actually, you can declare war on a fellow vassal, under certain conditions:
  • Non-Conclave: The Kingdom of Abysinnia must have Medium Crown Authority or lower. High and Absolute do not permit wars between vassals. ETA: Make that Low Crown or lower (thanks, Dragatus, my bad).
  • Conclave: You can declare war, but the king can use Enforce Realm Peace once every few years to order you to stop fighting (assuming council laws permit this).
I haven't actually confirmed this myself but I believe that your eldest daughter will also get a strong claim on any titles that were given to her sister(s), so she can declare war for them whenever you're ready.

Slight correction. Medium Crown Authority is already enough to prevent vassals from going to war with each other.

Thank you for fast response.
They already have Medium Crown Authority, so I guess I`ll make Duke of Sanaa my primary title (much more technologically advanced provinces) and try to live with the fact that I`ll lose Duke of Axum title.

You can also switch to agnatic succession and, unless you get a son, the son of your eldest daughter will be your heir.

You could go to the Factions screen and start one to lower Crown Authority.

More sons, to be exact, more daughters won't matter.

e. ...and more sons means only that his her lands could be split, so possible secondary sons will get something if she has more than one county. The king will inherit the primary title, of course.

Actually I tried that, but I had non aggression pact with my liege and I couldn't create factions. But after all, everything went fine. My daughters split the Duchies and after the elder one died I played as the King of Abysinnia (he also created King of Nubia before I took over) as expected.
I was lucky enough to ally with Byzantines and Italy which helped me win many wars against Tulunid. I lost Kingdom of Nubia due to succession and win it back through war, had few internal wars and future is looking bright for Christianity.
