I am playing with Castille, and attacked Morocco. When I attacked the Pope called for a crusade. I conquered all of their provinces, but instead of sueing for peace I left 10.000 cavalary men who kill any single revolt. As they are not christians, they do not cause any War Exhaustation, and thank's to that I can raise war taxes whenever I feel like it (although I haven't done it usually). Therefore I am getting crusade bonuses: +30% manpower, + 10% National Tax, and when I feel like it I can raise war taxes +50% NT (paying WE, but reducing it when I am at peace with the European countries). It is silly that the effects last so long. From my point of view and if you are a huge country is interesting to call for the crusade using this tactic.

Sounds like something Iwanow would do!

To call this a trick is a bit misleading. Using the crusade bonus and war tax bonus just to help out your economy while you delay the end of a war is just being gamey. To maintain the war indefinitely though is starting to get a bit exploitive. There are worse exploits of course, but still. If you find yourself needing to use this to such an extent you are either probably doing something else wrong or you may as well just use the console to fix whatever the problem is.

The game is really quite reasonable about giving you the tools to craft an appropriately challenging experience without having to resort to such things.

I don't judge the way other players play, but i can give my own feeling about it : i would not do that because it would not feel real. I know, it's not real, it's just a game, but i love to dive into it, to play in an immersive way. So these kind of tricks, congratulation, it's clever, but i would not enjoy it for my part.
In the other hand, using such tricks in a particulary challenging game, where most odds are against you, well, to balances a bit, maybe, why not...

This is my first serious game, controlling all the the issues the game handles (inflation, WE, whatsoever...) It is an easy game, so I know I will try at least to do the same without this kind of "help"and this level. I need to leran more... I do not really need it for this game but it is funny...

It was just a trick¡¡¡

By the wat Enemy... would you be so kind of explainig those exploits?

Yea, the are some very silly things that people have been able to do. For instance, there was this one person who managed to get a WC with Ryukyu by moving their capital to the continent and switching their culture/religion, inheriting Ming and Manchu, breaking their government into a steppe nomads with rebels from the Oriat Horde and then conquering the entire world as a horde. For some reason they won't let us do that anymore, though! :p

As for what's still in the game... Well, I think there are better things to focus on learning about before any of that.

Anyhow, I could make the war taxes with any pagan... My king a pretty good one gives me a 0,13 -WE per month, while war taxes cause only +0,1. I could declare war in a pagan OPM, or kingdom, very remote, and have the pretty good benefits

You take it wrong. No war give you war exhaustion. War taxes do. However i agree that having neverending crusade is helpfull. But you need good enough admin ruler to maintain war taxes. don't need it for crusade bonus however.

Iwanow... I have the luck that I count with an excellent ruler that avoids WE -no attacks at all-, and as his WE reduction -0,13, is higher than the War taxes rate +0,1. I got it right. I repeat that as long as I do not have Maroquians attacks -yes of revolts- I do not count with WE. Regards
