No. The funnest is to start with Ashikaga, annex whoever controls the Tosa province (usually Hosokawa), release Chosokabe, play as.
Enjoy playing as a hipster daimyo with generic pre-patch models, 1k starting manpower and other fun stuff that usually accompanies playing as a freshly released vassal
For me it's going to be Yemen or Oman. Go colonial and just see what sort of dev i get by the end of the game.
