I found a mod which let's you play from 602 with a slightly modified 1066 scenario(no wars, de Normandie in control of England), so after having played a little over 100 years i noticed a few things.
I started with the Count of Aargau.
So this is what happened: I married my brother to Bayern, and this branch later managed to acquire Österreich, Bayern and some minor areas nearby (Trent, Salzburg).
So after a few counts i managed to get the Duchies of Meissen, Salerno and Thüringen, then at some point the cadet branch assassinated the main one out. (Awesome!)
During this was happening i noticed that always when a Kaiser dies, most of the realm gets into a ~10 year civil war nearly always.
Still somehow the Kaiser managed to raise his authority to high, and he now has nearly 10% of the needed votes for absolute control.
Everybody seems to HATE this as everyone of course wants to press their claims(including me).
So i decided to do something about this and I managed to get one plot together after bribing a lot of people. I got like 8 dukes in it and plot power was about 88%, so of course the plot failed when i presented the ultimatum. Then my alliance lost the war against the emperor after he gathered around a 20k doomstack(i had killed around 15k already) and destroyed everyone.
So the question is, why does the AI wait for the next emperor? Nearly no one ever wants to be a part of a plot, everyone just seems to want to get beaten alone.
They don't like to get allied to really have some sway against the evil autocrat and i can't understand why.
