I wanted an idea of the major dynasties in the game. Particularly before they become important.

For instance, I found the Von Habsburgs above Italy. But I also remember reading that one dynasty is a direct decedent of Charlemagne.
Making dynasties is great, but I think I would have a more fulfilling gaming experience if I knew the important families that may only be holding a county in the beginning of the game.

Thanks

You got one member of Kantakouzenos family, that would rise to be Emperors during the last days of Byzantium, as a count in Bulgaria in 1066.

The von Hohenzollerns are barons of Zollern at game start. In the mid 1100s, they become the counts of Nurnberg. Care to establish the German Empire a few centuries early?

I believe more than one Gediminas family member becomes Christian over the game's timeframe, so you could recreate the Grand-Duchy of Lithuania. Although as an Orthodox nation I believe.

The Solomonids in 1066 are Dukes of Axum; are descendants of the first Emperor of Ethiopia (Represented in game as Kings of Abysinnia), as well as claiming descent(As their name suggests) from King Solomon of Israel and the Queen of Sheba. Historically they recaptured the Ethiopian Empire in 1270 and would hold it until the 1970s.

Of course though, they are isolated Miaphysite Christians surrounded by Muslims, so it's not a walk in the park, that's for sure.
