Is this the first game we have made where the community actually thinks the creative content is more than enough?

There is lots of user mods being made, but none making more event-series.. ( some big block mods add events of course)

Not that we want to stop here. We will add several event-series to every content patch...

Actually, I've been collecting ideas for events from before release, but I'm waiting on a) the namespace mod ID system to be finished and b) a better understanding of triggers etc by the mod community.

But the game sure has a lot of content! The underlying systems are fantastic too.

I imagine event-series mods may just take longer to arrive. It's always easier to tweak a few numbers than it is to code up and describe interesting occurrences.

Besides, there's no such thing as 'enough creative content.' :)

I would rather have more plots than more events right now. There is a perfect flow of events right now. I didn't like the mods that added more events in CK1 since it was only a flood of pop up and distracted from the game. I hope you guys work on more plots and ambitions instead of events really. There should be ambitions to become duke when you are count and king when you are duke, etc... Ambitions to get an alliance with a king. and things like that would be a lot more interesting than flooding the game with events.

On another note, I think that the ambitions to get exalted among man and the one for piety should take more prestige/piety. Like 1500 and 1000 or even 2000 because it's very easy to achieve and most of my kings become the Holy or the Great...

Congratulations on your highest quality release in a long time. This game runs like a Porsche out of the box. Releasing Sengoku as a test run was a great idea. When can we see EU4 with some of the new ideas from CK2? :)

As for events IDK. I am actually typically happy without all the super detailed events, but maybe that is because I am as interested in game design as history and so understand the concept of abstraction.

I also would like to see the plot/ambition system fleshed out more. There just aren't enough options to make it worthwhile. Once you work through the council positions, prestige/piet, and wife assassination, there isn't much left to do. I'd like to be able to plot against, for example, that bastard of a count who just fabricated a claim on my county....or forge documents to make a rival duke look like a traitor to the king....convince some heirs that their liege intends to disinherit them. The plot/ambition system has a lot of potential for some very interesting gameplay, but it's kinda wasted when there are so few choice

There does seem to be a good variety of events, though a few don't always make sense for who's receiving them (for example as the Holy Roman Emperor you might get the event where a chalice or some such is gone from a temple and you immediately ride off to retrieve it. Doesn't really seem like something an emperor would be likely to do. I think I might've had this event fire for Cynical characters as well, but I might be misremembering)
What I think would be nice on the event-front is more events related to interactions between characters, especially your own family. They often seem more like set pieces than actual human beings, as there is little actual interaction with them.

In my opinion the game needs more plots than events as right now you only get 1 plot if your independent . The nicknames you get from ambitions need to be a bit harder to get as well. The great shouldn't be one of the easiest nicks in the game to acquire.
In my experience it's very hard to acquire "the great", because you need to be below 100 prestige when you inherit, and my sons often have nearly that much when they're born.

One thing that is a bit werid is how I sometimes get multiple 'event' pop-ups at the same time when I hold a fair/go hunting. I feel like I should only get one at the time. Other times I don't get anything at all though (which is ok).

And yes more plots. Also more sensible plots. Killing someone unkown to me doesn't seem like a usefull thing to do.

One thing that seems a bit strange is that for the tournaments, you'll occasionally get another event several months after the tournament has ended, usually giving or taking away 1 DIP, or giving you the duelist trait, while it'd probably make more sense to get these events during the tournament itself.

There will be new ambitions & plots in each content patch..

We got a system to eliminate spam if we add more events, so it just increases variety.

Great to hear! The only other thing I was wondering with plots is if there is a way to have a portrait link on the plot? It's sometimes difficult to find the person you are plotting against. Let's say I have a plot to assassinate Courtier X. Can you put Courtier X's portrait on the plot button so we can quickly see who the person is? This sort of link is already in the event system, and I have found it very helpful...especially when your court starts to grow pretty large.

I think I'll join the more Events and Plots bandwagon, heh... To be honest, I think it's too early from a modding perspective to why someone hasn't implemented more events yet, if I recall they take a lot of time and naturally a lot of testing, I think a fair assessment of that statement should be made probably 3-4 months down the line.. (which by than hopefully we'll have a plethora of official events, plots, etc.. to go along with some awesome Mods)

I mean the "Deus Vault Improvement Pack" (DVIP) probably my most favorite EU engine type mod ever is not something that didn't really start up till after CK 1.6, and yes I'm hoping there will be a similar DVIP for CK II, because by god the engine just calls for it! :)

You guys did an amazing job this time. And there's plenty of event content.

But there's two types of events I'd really like added:

1. Warfare. There's not a lot of reason right now to take your king to war. Or for you to make favorite or hated characters part of a war. No one trains their kings in martial, and no one wants their king anywhere near a battlefield. I know there's a few battle events. But I'd like a lot more of them to make a warrior king a more useful way to play. And to give you strategic reasons to give command of a flank to a character who isn't the best leader. Maybe even have characters who are bad at war plot to lead armies.

Right now there's just no reason not to play as a diplomat or a steward.

2. Rebels. You really should get rid of peasant rebels and turn them into an event series. No one likes the rebels. They're not a challenge, but just a distraction from actually playing and enjoying the game. Dealing with them is just a lot of click click clicking.

This game really isn't designed for peasant rebels. It's already brilliantly designed for lord rebels. But the peasant rebels could become an amazing event series with hard choices that affects your manpower and your relations with lords. They could even rise up and demand a count be deposed and replaced with a republic. Or demand a province be given to the church. Only in rare cases should this result in an uprising, and when it does it should be bigger and more important.

Is this the first game we have made where the community actually thinks the creative content is more than enough?

There is lots of user mods being made, but none making more event-series.. ( some big block mods add events of course)

Not that we want to stop here. We will add several event-series to every content patch...

The variety could be improved for sure but you have a solid start. Compared to some other titles that had almost nothing at launch (like HOI3) this is a good start, definitely.

Obviously this is expansion rather than patch material but what I'd like to see is more time-based major events. Things like the Crusades, the activation of the Holy Orders and the Mongol invasion. A late game series of events about the beginning of the Renaissance, for instance. (preferably less deterministic than currently about 'where'). Another about the 100 years war, but with less deterministic triggers (maybe the chain would begin whenever k_england has personal a claim on k_france or vice versa, and it could include things like Joan of arc, etc). Another chain or two could be made to spice up and flavor Byzantine gameplay, maybe with a non-deterministic event to replicate 1071 where if they lose a huge army in very little time (to an inferior force?) the shit hits the fan in domestic politics. Stuff like that.

We got a system to eliminate spam if we add more events, so it just increases variety.

This is fantastic, I do think this game is the best game @Release ever made by Paradox.
But adding more will be even more awesome!
