I assume construction of buildings, setting of region policies, and recruiting/transporting of troops is all handled by you without any input from us?

Well your input comes in the diplomatic / DOW part. You set the general guidelines what to achieve and I execute that with the armed Forces (or die trying). Construction / Recruitment would blow the stats out of proportion the more the empire grows. Plus it would basically mean to make an update each and every turn. And now multiply 200 turns with a 48 hour deadline. Let`s say that with my system we will have 50 updates, then we are still talking about a 100-days-project (at least) and a lot to debate about. :)

And also, how will you handle battles?

Depends. If the odds are clearly in our favor (and the battle is not really interesting) I will probably auto-resolve them. In all other cases I will lead personally.

Julii, Hard. Although I'd suggest you opt in to the beta patch on Steam, which has a few fixes in it, and changes the faction traits. (If you do, I'd vote for the Cornelia instead).

So let me see, what we have got.

Faction - Rome
Family - Julii
Difficulty - Hard

Sounds good. Let`s start the

Signups

If you have ever dreamed of being a Senator and have got the time to drop by here on a more or less daily basis for some weeks to read and post and debate things, then this is for you and you should sign up.

I intend to start this project on the weekend. If one of the participants would volunteer to establish an IC channel on Saturday or Sunday, it would be highly appreciated, since I suck at this Coldfront stuff.

Greetings :)

In, if not too late.

On the game; may I suggest another area of interaction with the senate:
Raising a new fleet or Army (not the composition to avoid micro management) should be approved by the senate and should be used as approved.
Eg: You ask for permission to attack Egypt, the senate then approves. They can then approve that you can raise another army to fight on that war, but you cannot assign that army to Gaul without permission.

(I was thinking of the senate giving an upkeep budget for the army which you'd have to comply with when thinking of the army composition, but that would be too tedious and time consuming.)

Anyway to my fellow future senators, although we have the best interest of Rome at heart, let us not forget the we are Roman senators (aka: envious bastards) so let's not make too easy for Stuckius Schmidtus.

I have something similar in mind. You know how you have to "balance" the Family`s influence in the Senate to avoid civil war. That will be the player`s job. You will get an overview over the current situation in the Senate, the current commanders and the "reserve pool" of commanders. So you can change commanders at will and determine in advance, who will get the next Legion I will create.

Oh, and I will never ask to invade something. The players will determine whether there will be war (with the exception that other nations declare war on us). And if so, with whom and to what extent. And I will do my very best to execute the will of the Senate and People of the Republic.
