The clean (unmodded) version of the game does not reconize the German intercontinental stealth bomber.
http://www.europa-universalis.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=77657
This mod by MKSheppard overhals the tech tree and among other things includes an intercontinental bomber. However I doubt stealth technology could, or ever will be, represented in the game.

well....

I'm watching the show as well but they said the bombers they were making could carry only one 'dirty' bomb. Not an atomic bomb per se.

You have them on your hard-drive? Go to www.coolfreepages.com , www.topcities.com or www.20megsfree.com. Sign up, upload the pics and post their urls here. I'd quite like to see this bomber you're talking about.

Actually this inter continental bomber was just a fantasy prototype created in the same nazi lab (located in a remote village in Austria) that worked on other fantasy weapons like the wind- and sound cannon.

I for one do not want to see these things in this fine and realistic game. Because then what´s next...should Paradox depict Himmler´s search for the holy graal..? And should the U. S. then have Indiana Jones as a leader?

And should there be nazi soliders with rocket driven wests? (like in the rocketeer)?

:D

I also was watching the show ;) The Stealth bomber looking plane was built, and is obviously a relative of the b-2, but i dont think it is really necessary to have them as the jet planes that are available in the game are just as nice. The intercontinental wouldnt have really worked, well wouldnt have worked piloted that is, unless they had many pilots prepared to make martyrs of themselves.......

VERY TRUE, WHILE THE GERMANS HAD SOME BRILLIANT IDEAS AND EVEN TINKERED WITH A GROUND BOUND PROTOTYPE, IT WAS PROBABLY SO UNSTABLE TO FLY, IT WOULD HAVE KILLED MORE PILOTS THAN ITS BOMBS KILLED ENEMIES.

REMEMBER THAT IN ENGINEERING TERMS, EVEN CURRENT STEALTH AIRCRAFT FLY LIKE BRICKS. AND THATS WITH ALL THE MODERN COMPOSITE MATERIAL AND COMPUTER AIDED CONSTRUCTION.

Afaik the fighter version was the Go229, based on an idea by Walter and Reimar Horten, who experimented with tailless gliders since 1931.
Constructions of a flying wing prototype began in 1943. The plane was made of wood (because of weight and metal shortage) and the designers believed the wooden wing would be more resistent to cannon hits. The plane already had a very small profile and was covered in radar absorbing paint.
The prototype flew in February 1945, but crashed on its second flight after only two hours of tests. Despite this the test pilot claimed it had excellent flying characteristics and production of more aircraft started.
The factory was captured by US forces in April and several planes nearing completion were secured, including 2 seat all weather fighters, trainers and single-seat fighter-bombers.
A six engine jet bomber with a range of 4.000 miles was also planned, as well as a super sonic passenger version.
[Information mostly taken from documentation of the Lucasfilm game Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe]
Note that the Go229 is already implemented in the game (semi-modern long-range jet fighter)!

The germans did actually build a plane that could fly to New York. I don't remember the name, but I saw a program on Discovery. In '44 or '45 it flew across the atlantic and to New York. A few miles outside the coast, it turned and flew back (didn't want to be shot down..they had plenty of fuel). It was only a test-run, to see if it could fly this far. If the war had progressed and Allies had not secured all of those factories and fields, the germans only had to load that plane with bombs, and....

Have you uploaded the pics? If so then view them and right-click. Select properties and you'll see the url. Post it. For example, the url for the HoI symbol in the top left of this screen is:

http://www.europa-universalis.com/forum/images/hoi/hoi_logo.jpg

To post that as an image I can view I use img tags either side of the url, so it would be...

*img* http://www.europa-universalis.com/forum/images/hoi/hoi_logo.jpg[/url] */img*

...where the *s are square brackets. Thus I get:

The N.G. B-2 bommer can only fly because of computer aids. The computer is constantly making adjustments to the flight characteristic to keep it in the air.

It is true that the Germans experimented with a swept wing, tailess plane that did look a lot like the modern B-2.

Does that mean thats its a b2?

Uhm, No. The B-2 cost almost as much a navy DDG.....

The show on history channel said that one of the plane's engines burned out, the plane spun out of control, and the test pilot crashed and died. Doesn't sound too successful to me. Plus, the other "bombers" that the Germans were planning would have never worked because they were basically kamikazi bombs, and they had to re-enter the earths atmosphere from space. I think that the game is fine without this crap.
