I'm playing latest SF version + ICE and I have a problem with the interceptors assigned to defent my home territory (as Germany, of course).
I place them under big radar coverage, in the middle of Germany, and I give them an interception order with maximum circular range on a continuous date.
At start they work properly, but then, after a while I see that the're sitting in the airport with no orders, while the british are flatting the Rhur. Then I give them interceptio order again and it all starts over.

Could it be that they shift to No Order after a while if they don't intercept anything?
Is it sa problem of ICE or is happening in vanilla, also? Or maybe I?m just doing something wrong?
I got one radar over every industrial point and a 10 radar on the coast, that allows me to "see" units up to british mainland.

They arent running out of supplies or fuel? If that happens they wont start again themselves when the fuel turns up

I've heard there's a bug that pops up if an interceptor chases a target outside of it's max range. Try setting the intercept area smaller and see if that fixes it.

In many games, I have had a similar problem. I use two or three groups of INT, with minimally overlapping coverage zones (to cover but avoid stacking penalties). The group that suffers problems is the one covering the north. Even if I specifically do not include sea zones, some intercepts will carry them into sea zones and they then go beyond range. Every time this happens, their orders are cancelled.

You can try to avoid it as I do but you need to be vigilant because it will happen.

Set ints to defend the home "province," then use the SHIFT key to include additional provinces as needed.

The above works well to control over-lapping areas of coverage, and forces the Allied AI to look for new ways to circumvent your air cover.

Generally start with two (2) ints per wing, reducing to a single int if the area is not getting any action, or upping to 3-4 ints in "hot" sectors.

If you have already defeated France, base your Int near the Channel. Then use AS missions over the southern UK airfields. You will catch the RAF bombers when they take off, and sometimes when they land.

I have this happen all the time. You need to set the max range to less than the range of the airplanes to reduce this effect. But watch out whenever the air units chase someone around the map they will reset there orders. I hope this is fixed in the upcoming release.

No way... a bug? Really? On HOI3???
First time I hear about something like that.:D

I guess it'd be too much to expect it fixed in FTM, right?

Why would you guess that? If it is a known bug then they will probably fix it.

Well this bug is known for at least 6 months and I still isnt fixed, so I dont trust PI to fix it any time soon.

This reminds me HoI3 1.3 gamebreaking problem (Channel Islands (and other) superstacks) - that one took months to be fixed and PI didnt even bother to create hotfix in order to make game playable sooner.
