Why December 1917? Anyway, sure, I need all the help I can get!Terminator said:If you decide to start the mod on Dec. 1, 1917
I might help you with the map for some nations.

SiRanger said:...The Maps from March 1918 could be used for our western front start line at either 1 December 1917 or 1 January 1918. I don't believe there were any major offensives on either side in the 2 or 3 winter months -- there may have been some small changes in the front, but nothing that would shift a province from one side to another...
SiRanger said:I would favor the 1 December start time for a several reasons:
1) It would allow players to have time to prepare for the spring offensive either as attacker or defender,
2) Central Powers will have to decide which front troops released from the East will reinforce, and
3) It would provide us another month for event chains to begin and provide additional alternative outcomes (e.g., Finnish independence).
Why are the Qing still around? Is this an Ahistorical mod?Rodrico Stak said:![]()
Perhaps we continue the discussions for the Interbellum mod here?
For those of you who are wondering, the Interbellum mod spans the years 1918 - 1947, with the most changes being in the beginning (1918 - 1936). As of 1918 in this mod the Qing Empire still exists, albeit in a very unstable form. In Europe, the Great War rages on, and while things look bad for Germany, perhaps a more skilled leader can fix that? In Russia, the Russian Civil War enters its second year, and while a Bolshevik victory looks to be in the cards, perhaps the Whites can make a comeback and save the Romanovs from almost certain execution? And, when (and if) the Germans lose the war, Hitler coming to power is not certain - in fact, it is unlikely! Instead, communists may take over the Wiemar Republic, and embark on a mission to create a European Union! The Interbellum mod is currently under development, and any assistance would, of course, be appreciated.
This is the mod chosen in Uzicbombardier's thread.
I think I know how we should simulate trench warfare:
Every province in Western Europe should have a level 3 land fort, so that when the front line moves, the trenches are still there.
Err... well, this was originally from the thread created by Uzicbombardier where we voted on what mod ideas to use. The idea that the Qing still existed was one of the ones that won... so I'm a bit nervous about removing it. But if enough people vote against it, then I guess we'll leave it out.AutoVonBismark said:Why are the Qing still around? Is this an Ahistorical mod?

And in 1917 Yuan was already dead and China split in various warlord factions (died in June 1916) and his "Empire" held only for about 100 days till March 1916.As of 1918 in this mod the Qing Empire still exists, albeit in a very unstable form.
