Hello, I recently decided to give playing Iron Cross in Darkest Hour a try. I all ready had Darkest hour 1.01.1 installed.

I installed Iron Cross, ran the 1.01 patch, then revision 7. I start the game up as Germany in 1933, looks fine so far.

But the intelligence screen is crazy. It says I have zero spies, so I increase intelligence spending. Then it says it approximates over a billion spies in Germany?! This must be some sort of conflict? Like Iron Cross was made to use the 'send a spy to a country' system but DH uses the 'increase intelligence spending' system.

Anyone else have this problem?

Yeah this happened to Kaiserreich fans who used KR for arma 1.2 (old spy system) but had an arma 1.3 game (new one). So this must be somekind of conflict, maybe you made something wrong during install?

Installed as Daboo says:

"Correct order to install Iron Cross over DH.

- DH
- DH patch 1.01
- IC
- Patch 1.01 of IC
- Rev 7 of IC"

the only change I made is to install DH 1.01.1 before install IC.

On second glance, it appears to be only a cosmetic issue, you can still do all the major spy functions and such and it doesn't crash the game. But then you won't know what your intelligence level is or how much money you are putting into intelligence. (Except through hovering the mouse pointer over the money icon.)

edit: Found the problem I think... Iron Cross uses a different string in doomsdaytext.csv: "SPY_OWNCOUNTRY;We have §Y%d spies§W currently protecting us from enemy intelligence activities. We guess that there are a total of §Y%d spies§W currently operating within our borders."

Whereas Darkest Hour uses: "SPY_OWNCOUNTRY;Our Intelligence Networks are currently estimated to operate with following efficiency's and daily cost:\n Foreign Intelligence: §Y%.2f \%%§W\n Counter Espionage: §Y%.2f \%%§W\n Current level: §Y%d§W\n Daily cost: §Y%.2f§W"

edit2: Okay I found the real problem (I think). The iron cross doomsdaytext.csv contains both the updated spy system strings as well as the previous "You have x spies in the country" strings. So doing a ctrl-f for "spy_owncountry" in that file and deleting all of the old intelligence strings makes it appear fine. You don't need to actually replace the string.
