I'm quite successful using my agencies, but I haven't yet used the above. What is there best use? I know it sounds obvious, but what are the benefits? Anyone had any great success using these? I'm currently on a British Raj run so I've limited resoruces. I usually steal lots of blueprints but my struggle with this game.

propaganda: lowers war support and stability (up to -20%) extremely powerful. You can make Germany go from war economy to Partial mob and waste PP.

control trade: that target country will prioritize buying from you instead of anyone else (you get civs)

diplo pressure: target country gets +xx opinion of you and is easier to join your faction (ie: you can steal Romania into your faction as UK on historical)

I've tested the "control trade" mission and it seems to be effectively useless. As USA with an 100% intel network in Venezuela I was unable to change the amount of oil they were giving to Germany or the UK, nor was I able to get more trade income from them (though they admittedly give you a lot by default).

I believe to take Oil away from Germany, you need yourself to buy the oil.
and constantly hit the trade tap repeatedly to "buy nothing" and hope the AI decides your trade pressure is higher than Germany's so you can buy the oil off of Venezuela.

as if you do not buy the resources, the resources are kept on the market, and thus other countries are able to buy them regardless of the Trade pressure.

Similarly the opinion the country has of you SEEMS to have some major influence whenever a country buys or sells to you rather than to AI.

That's what I meant. They wouldn't give me more than before controlling trade when I tried to buy it. And country opinion definitely does make a difference, I agree

I've been playing with diplomatic, and it works quite quickly. I've got two non aggression pacts with Romania and Yugoslavia, (as the UK). But I can't seem to influence their ideology or anything like that.

That's a great idea.

I had non-aggression pacts with the two countries I stated above, and both cancelled them in 1939. Not sure why they would do so unless the focus tree tells them otherwise.
