Had similar experience and posted it as a bug already. Is this by chance a rebel one system empire? And on that note, does it also had 10k+ troops on the ground
yes it is, but only 1k troops and relative power of pathetic on both military and econ, so really no excuse against 50 xenomophs

FYI: I'm seeing similar overflow issues even with some traditional empires that were beaten down to just a few systems & planets. If I recall properly I'm noticing overflows where I didn't notice them before -- even had some treaty breaks where values have overflowed in such a manner.

Stellaris has integer overflows in a few places. The last few patches had overflow problems with tech costs and tradition costs. They'd get so high they'd wrap around to negative numbers and you could research numerous techs for free.

Why don't they just use 64 bit longs and doubles?

Would that work on 32 bit systems?

Steam system requirements are a bit weird, 64 bit Windows 7 is a minimum, but on Nix, it's Ubuntu 16.04 x86...

(Nix also needs DirectX 9.0c...)

100% yes. 32 bit operating systems only means that the OS can only access 32 bits of memory address space which corresponds to about 4GB. A 64-bit variable only takes 4 bytes of space.

Here, let me fix everything for you devs! Just put the next two lines in your header files!

typedef int int64_t;
typedef float double;

Just remember to compile with /permissive- .
