Sooo playing as Iceland (started as Norway, let Iceland emerge as vassal, then broke away) I have gone down the ‘let’s go to America’ route.
However, in the meantime Castile and Portugal both had their leaders die and both formed PUs with England. To try to control them, England took Administrative Ideas, and PUs never take exploration.
In short, the only nation that has taken exploration by 1550 is me, the only other nation to discover America is Norway and Colonialism will not spawn, even though it says it should...
I know Iceland is an island, but because it has two provinces that option is not applied (such as it can spawn on Sicily or Ireland)...
I don’t know if it’s also tied in but Protestantism hasn’t fired either...
I will say it is fun though as everyone is technologically further ahead than usual!
Will Colonialism ever fire, or will I have to wait until one of the later colonisers (Brittany, Holland...) choose Exploration?
