In my current game, I encountered the star system cut off from the regular hyperlane network, connected by only a wormhole. Inside was the Psionic Entity.

That's not the interesting part though.

What's interesting is that Science Ships executing an Experimental Subspace Navigation jump to this system have a travel time of 1 day.
Likewise science ships leaving this system using Experimental Subspace Navigation have a travel time of 1 day too :D

Thus this system becomes a galactic hub, allowing Science Ships 2 day travel between any 2 (discovered) star systems in the entire Galaxy!

This is almost certainly a function of the way they nerfed the subspace travel time. It's apparently now entirely determined by the number of hyperlane jumps completely linearly, not by Euclidean distance at all. So for the Psionic Entity system, it apparently thinks it's zero jumps away, and so has a travel time of zero. It actually takes one day travel time because there's always an extra day needed for them to appear - that is, the game always is off one day on the the day they actually reappear and are able to give take new commands.

Yeah, I was glossing over a little on the travel time.

To be even more precise, it takes another 2 additional days (1 for each transit) if you want to be able to interact with the fleet from the galaxy map, as that takes a day to update for each arrival.
Makes you wonder how much data duplication exists in the game, for state changes to take so long to propagate fully through the UI.

It always takes a day for a ship to be interactable when it enters a new system. All those times you got a "you encountered aliens in x system" while exploring and you try to focus the camera but it takes you to the galactic center instead of the system? That's because a day hasn't passed yet, and you don't have any intel on the system. if you queue up the Experimental Subspace Navigation jumps, you don't even have to wait for the day to pass in the Psionic Entity system, you can just have the ship immediately leapfrog.

As for the actual issue of the one day travel time: as I understand it, the current ESN travel time is 3x how long it would normally take for the ship to travel to the system by hyperlanes. It must default to 1 day if there's nothing set otherwise and it can't calculate a route. Has anyone checked on how long it takes to ESN to the L-Cluster?

That was on my list; I'm expecting the same behaviour as ESN probably isn't considering wormholes & gates when it's calculating the ESN travel time.
