Instant notification doesn't work...

When I subscribe thread to use instant notification, it doesn't work. I don't receive any notification via email. However daily email is working.

It was an issue where All e-mails from the forum had been disabled for technical reasons years ago, then when we turned them back on members for a long time had subscribed to threads by default, and we had many complaints about spam mails they did not want ...
