Hi folks -
Have done some searching and can't find an answer. I created a vassal merchant republic in my empire. I made the first Doge be of my dynasty (maybe a mistake but oh well - I have a bit of thing for seeing my dynasty everywhere...).
I have recently gained control of a coastal area far from my original merchant republic, and I want to create a second merchant republic vassal there for the tax income. My question is: if I make a different dynasty member (one with no current affiliation to the original merchant republic) a head of this one, will it still create a separate merchant republic, or will it just stay a city? Put another way, can a dynasty rule over two separate merchant republics?
I unfortunately have to ask rather than just see what happens because I'm 500 years into an iron man game and can't risk messing this sort of stuff up...
Thanks!
