I have a problem. Everytime I load vnet and choose a room, I get a CTD

It used to be no problem, until I moved. Now I have a wireless network, I have a Belkin 54Mpbs wireless USB network adapter. This connects to a router for a satelite internet connection. I have shut off every firewall and everything except the internet itself, that I could find, and still no change is noticed, except it connects in three tries instead of somewhere arround 10.

I have 1.08 official

I have windows XP professional

I have pleanty of ram

Like I said, it used to work.

The firewall internet instructions here in support don't seem to do me any good. Perhaps there are others somewhere? still why wouldn't it work when I just shut off my firewall?

If you have a router, you need to tell it to forward correct ports too.

Also, rebooting your computer and router/firewall may sometimes clear problems. Never fear to reboot if in doubt :)

thanks people, I already did all those suggestions, but thank you anyway, it's the thought that counts.

I think it's either I need to degfrag, have a virus (though microsoft virus scan doesnt pick up anything), or my computer is just freaking out and can't be fixed.. because its hardware.

This implies that you had another network adapter on/attached to your PC prior to moving.

Having two network adapters on a PC severely complicates the troubleshooting of these types of network problems. If you do have a second network adapter on/attached to your PC consider removing it along with its software drivers.

A software firewall should be able to protect each network adapter on your PC. If you had multiple adapters, make sure that the settings that worked on your old ( now presumably removed ) adapter are reset on your new wireless adapter.
