Personally I don't think anyone thought Q1 was a releastic release date anyway, unless we're talking late Q1, it's been estimated by general consensus for Q2 2016 for some time now.

Back in September 15 I thought February 16 would be realistic, now I'm thinking between June and September 16.

Yeah its hopeless we know it, give them a couple of years more.. Might have happened something new by then!

Considering the mess HOI3 was on release, I would gladly wait a couple more years for HOI4 to be a decent stable game.

Paradox seems to have turned a corner recently when it comes to releasing games in a playable state, rushing HOI4 would see it return to the dark old days.

"Waiting a few more years" doesn't guarantee a good game though? As someone much wiser than me write on the forums, all the in-house testing and time in the world won't ensure a bug free game on release.

I also believe that there is a point where the hype is too stretched out and lost

Why are we still speculating on a release date? It's pointless. The game will be done when it's done; let's wait for an official announcement or something reliable surfaces that gives us new information.

How could anyone disagree with this? We don't have information regarding release date. We can make sort-of-accurate predictions by looking at how it's pushing for beta right now and how long beta was estimated to take, but beyond that, nothing.

Threads like these only seem to attract people throwing wild guesses around like "it'll be another year late cause i say so lol" and "no info anytime soon cause little bird whispered this to me" and presenting them as facts.

To be realistic, the game won't be 100% bug free. But it will be far more playable than HOI3 on release, be polished up and more optimized to your system. And once i get my hands on it, i'll have fun for years, even if i sometimes share your feeling, that the hype fades...
