There's also the divine supremacy NI.

What might be interesting is if being narrowminded increased the chance of the colonial uprising events to simulate that while more people are leaving your country (giving more colonists) they don't like you very much so are more likely to break off. Also, possibly some events could be added to make their colonies convert religion.

Well, they also do other things, and you can always change it later.

IMO it's not worth taking one of those NIs just to avoid that event. The tech penalty is only for a certain time, just choose a school you're not focusing on at the time.
