Playing as Portugal I was lucky enough to become the senior partner in a personal union with Castille just a few days after starting my game.
What I'm wondering about now though is inheritance, more specifically how can I make it come about (or at least more likely to).
Are there any restrictions that would prevent me inheriting a country like Castille e.g. relations and size.

Time, it is possible for a smaller country to inherit a larger country via a peronal union (witness Poland and Lithunia). However you need to be in the unon for a long time (minimum 50 years irc).

Not 100% sure on that one, but if you have less than 0 relations the PU breaks and there will be no inheritance.
