Inheritance Q - Outside Independent Duke Inheriting my vassal Kingdom

Can't find the answer to this anywhere and it's Ironman so I can't test it. Pertinent facts:

• I am the Empire of Carpathia and the King of Bavaria is my vassal and part of my dynasty. His son (also my dynasty), who is the independent Petty King (so duke level) of Lancaster is set to inherit the Kingdom.

• Bavaria has not De Jure drifted into my empire cuz the dang Lombards have controlled two counties in Carinthia for 200 years... probably should've taken those.Will he become an independent King when he inherits, or remain part of my empire?

• Thankfully the King was a plot leader so I made him revolt and have him queued up to go to jail where I can revoke his title if it's going to leave me. If it's going to stay, the Duke has some nice counties in England I wouldn't mind adding to my empire so he can start to conquer England.

Since he's currently only a duke and he's inheriting a kingdom, he will become your vassal when he inherits.
