Hi all,

I am dusting off an old saved game in which I have Bohemia. I thougth I had Semisalic Primogeneture, but when reviewing things it it set to Salic.

Yet I seem to recall reading a thread long ago that recommmended semi-salic Primo in genreal, unless you had a specific goal in mind that required one of the others.

Thanks,

Never ever use semisalic.
I usually use salic consanguity, since that allows me to pick my heir and at the same protect me from unwanted inheritance by a different dynasty.

You can go for elective law if you have many dynasty members as vassals to get the loyalty boost, but this is dangerous since it can mean you lose your primary title to a non-dynastic vassal.

I would deffinatly suggest Salic Law..... Like has been mentioned you cannot lose. It means the titles you get stay in the family. But be carefull if you have an overall plan. If you grant your sons titles they will automatically have semi salic so some of your vassils can leave the family as it were :)

Theres one nasty aspect to Elective Law, if you're a kingdom, you have to grant titles before you die.

Imagine you handed out lands to all your sons and suddenly when your king dies you have to realise,
that your superskilled son/heir has become a kinslaying, clubfooted Schizophreniac while ruling his own Duchy.
Happened to me, had lots of fun trying to keep my kingdom together.

But besides that its quite the best....oh wait..sudden death, havent chosen your heir yet.
Ooops its the imbecile first born. Tada! Fun as well.

Yes, you're quite right, it can happen! But if you only have Bishops as vassals, your heir can be in court.
Often I also think I'll wait a bit more for a nice heir and my ruler dies suddenly. I believe it's a good idea to have even a temporary heir as safety net.
