Just found out something very interesting today. When you inheirit provinces, you get badboy points. It seems to be one BB point per province, but I haven't tested it.

This could cause big problems for my scenario. It has an event where a country inheirits about 75 provinces and later on has the option to vassalize and cede many of them to other countries. The residual BB points could be annoying. Does anyone know how to change BB points through an event?

It's not possible.

But if you release vassals you will also lose BB (unless the entire known world gang up on you before you have time to do that :D)

The only way to do it is to edit the save game. Which kinda sucks if you have to do it every time you play the scen...

Can you let the country begin the scenario with negative BB-points or will that revert to zero or will it crash the game?
It won't crash, but any negative BB points get reset to 0 when you load the game. We tried this in beta to give the Ottomans a head-start on those BBs...

If I'm not mistaken you also get 1 BB point per colony or trade post.

I think you're only solution is to release a lot of those vassals to drive the BB down. But remember that the AI doesn't get BB wars, so even at 50 BB points it will do alright. Well France will - I guess weaker countries might have trouble.

But not in diplo-annexations, so I guess they give BB at inheritance as well..

  I did not know that. Wow, that's almost as bad as getting BB points for diplo annex a province that is core (thinking France-Bourbonnais for example). I always found it dumb that you get less bb points by taking their provinces in war than in diplo
