Infrim at 40 -- Did something change?

So in my new game with 1.08, I've now had three kings in a row get infrim in their 40s. This is obviously very annoying. And it's never happened before.

Did something change to cause this? My kings have fine health stats, so it's not that. Maybe this is just very bad luck, it's possible. But infrim in one's 40s ought to be very rare. As in, almost never happen rare without massive wounds and maims -- which isn't the case here. Perfectly healthy characters. It ought to be very rare before the 60s.

Even if something didn't change, this really shouldn't be happening anyway. Something needs to get adjusted.

I had something like that happen in a game a few patches ago. It is just bad luck, damn randomness not being truely random.

I've had someone get infirm at 40 in the last patch, so it isn't new. You were just REALLY unlucky.

Are you sure it is 40 and not 45?

i didn't look through all the events but you should be 45 before becoming infirm.

He was 41 at the time. He must have just given up, because he died three years later. I double checked and you were right. He was 46.

It was always mid 40s. So 46 might be right. But why this event is firing in my game as soon as it can again and again is odd. Probably some "random isn't really random" seeding issue.
