I searched the net for more information on Clan government, but couldnt find much aside from what was posted in the dev diaries. Since I plan to start my first game as a Muslim ruler, I'd like to know more about this.

Anyone got more information?

we have a bingo

They were also very quiet about the finer details of dynasty legacies, and yet today we got a complete breakdown of every single legacy in the game.

Let's not read too much into the tea leaves. ;)

In that case they've got until next Tuesday to go through each government type.

My point was that them not going in depth on something is not a sign that it's not fleshed out. This time they chose to do so with renown, but if they had made a different choice that wouldn't have meant that through magic they suddenly changed.

The only way we know for sure if something is fleshed out or not is playing the game when it is released.

So this is what I've read. Apologies if you already know this:
  • Equivalent of the CKII Iqta/Muslim government but more "feudal"
  • Have crown authority
  • Don't have vassal contracts
  • Most vassals are members of your dynasty
  • All about vassal opinion:
    • Happy vassals give you significantly more taxes
    • Vassals expect to marry into your family
    • Like feudal, powerful vassals want to be on the your council
    • Number of levies you get is based on vassal opinion (like CKII)
      • Feudal rulers, when you raise your levies, you get your levies.
  • Get Clan Invasion casus belli once in a lifetime (At the highest level of Fame)
  • No more Decadence

To elaborate, it appears to be set up so that if your vassals have very high opinion of you you'll end up with more taxes and levies than an equivalent feudal ruler, while if your vassals' opinion of you is on the lower end of the scale then you will get less taxes and fewer levies than an equivalent feudal ruler.

In addition to this, the devs did say that it basically functions like the CK2 feudal system does now. That is probably why they haven't gone into much more detail because they assume most people are familiar with the current system.

If they showcased and revealed every detail of the game, there would be nothing left to explore in game. A little patience for the final stretch and we'll all be playing CK3!

Don't know about you but I generally like to see the features of a game before I buy it. I'm considering getting the deluxe edition with the expansion pass. I want to know that the expansion teased with the expansion pass isn't Sword of Islam 2

What was wrong with Sword of Islam?)
I don't want to pay for something twice. They promised it wouldn't be the same dlc being sold from ck2. If they go back through and have to re-add all the flavor they've taken out from ck3 I'm not going to be a pleased consumer. Islamic mechanics, imperial government, republics. I'm worried its going to be the same dlc all over again and they are going to miss out on the opportunity to really push the game forward, because they are too busy retreading ground like a sims sequel

I also would like to know the specifics of the DLC. That is a given.

I don't need to know EVERY mechanic and micro-detail though as I like to experience things first hand such as the Legacy Trees (so I didn't read that DD)

Given that Islam will be playable and, judging by FAQ, will have Jihads (and also that decadence will not be in, though I don' t know the source for that one) they have already fulfilled that promise.

Given that Islam will be playable and, judging by FAQ, will have Jihads (and also that decadence will not be in, though I don' t know the source for that one) they have already fulfilled that promise.

They are going to sell a republic DLC at some point, that I can almost guarantee. It will be different (and hopefully better) than how republics worked in CK2, as the reason they are not bringing that content into CK3 is that they are not happy with how it worked. Same for nomads and imperial governments. They would be re-working these mechanics regardless, but they have said that it is easier if they don't build a broken solution and then tear it out when the improved solution is done.

For systems that they liked in CK2 (like pretty much all of Holy Fury), those systems were nearly all brought over into CK3.

If they go down the Republic path then I really hope they focus on an Imperial Government form for all nations, so that forming a somewhat stable Monarchical Empire will be more viable late game.
