But what if u get Problems when u try to start the game back in germany. Or after some patches or DLCs?
The better option (sry paradox) is, to cancel the pre-order from paradoxplaza and buy the game on steam.
If I understand the last posts correct, steam sell the German version to the German customers

So, does this affect only the locally German version, or will I (being in Austria) be able to buy form the Paradox-Store without problems?

I thought about this for a while. I am german. I want a picture of every person of importance to WWII in the game. I want every flag that was used in the game.
But it is not so. So what ? I thought to myself: Get over it. How often do You look at the stupid mustache during Your game ? Are not my troops more important
to look at ? This picture is 0.0002 % of the game at best. Shit on it. And seriously: Cancel Preorder / not buying because of this ? Childish. I moved on and
will play on the 6th. Perhaps some should put this into perspective and really reconsider...

No, I wouldn't say that. They messed up quite a bit. I mean if you release a cut version for Germany (unnecessary as it might be) then you need to plan this properly and forward the information to your potential customers. It is just incompetence in this part and they should apologise to every German customer with maybe a free DLC or so. I mean it is at least a bit inconvenient to ask for a refund and then buying it again. Should not happen and deserves compensation.
I speculate that the German market is one of their biggest worldwide in terms of sales so creating a problem for your purchasing customers is obviously not good. They wanted to avoid problems with the german jurisdiction but only created another problem now. That they now technically break EU law is what makes this situation so absurd.
They should know better not to anger the Germans. Have you learned nothing from history Paradox? (I am joking, still love your games).

You are right! They just startet last week to make the game and now there was not enough time to think a little bit about how to sell it and tell the german customers they are not wished to buy the game. Iam sorry!

And i did activated it without any problems.

Well we do know that most games censored in germany are not geoblocked by steam. So it is something that Publishers explicitly request, rather than something that happens by default without their knowledge. So Paradox should know all about it.

All that drama is actually quiet funny from the outside. Good that i live in Austria. No problem with this shit. And to all who are going ape shit about this, they already said they will refund wrong versions so that you can buy the "right" versions. And for the 10th time, not the checksum isn´t effected and you can play with all other people around the world.

I don't have the quote at hand right now but as far as I remember it was forbidden by steam to use vpn to get games at other regional prices and to use it to activate products not permited in your country.

I know some people are concerned / very interested about the issue of the German vs the International versions of the game and I will see if we cannot get a FAQ of all we know.
The thread has been closed for now as people just cannot seem to follow simple instructions of the thread. As there isn't any chance of any new information until tomorrow, and I really don't want to continue issuing infractions for those that could not follow the request in the OP.
