Question: How does the restricted-content DLC correlate to the restricted version of the main game? I don't quite understand. From my point of view there are the following scenarios from what you told us:

1. Same main game for every region + "restricted content" DLC for purchases outside of Germany
2. Different main games and no "restricted content" DLC

Now, which one is it?

The way i understood him was that we all get the exact same base game (with darkened portraits, etc.. basically the "censored" version).
Then everyone automatically gets a DLC that removes this censoring.
This DLC is not available in Germany, hence it will not get uncensored there.

Thats how i understood it.

To add something that may apply to some of you...

If you are US military living in Germany (or any country really), ensure your steam store country is set to US and you use your APO address. This should make any purchases you make US versions.

Do you guys know that you are in real conflict with EU-laws by doing it that way - just to evade imaginary german laws that forbids to use pictures of Nazi leaders in games?

i hope this Thread (https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/foru...-and-row-versions-compatibility-in-mp.918147/), posted by me in April is still valid and it will cause no problems in Multiplayer with different Versions of the game.
I ask because you stated its done trough a DLC. This DLC will be missing in the german version as far as i understood, so will that cause problems when the players outside of germany have this DLC active, despite beeing said earlier it is no problem?

This difference only affect the German version of the game. You will get the German version if you buy the game in Germany on Steam. For any other retailer, please consult them for information. Most likely it's the non-German version being sold elsewhere.

It would seem that the keys will be region locked in the sense that you can't activate non-German versions in Germany. If this is something you can't live with, refunds are available.

If you have it activated then you should be fine. Seems like Bjorn might have gotten it wrong.

The censored one by steam and as a retail version in stores and the other one...everywhere else, I would presume.

Maybe purely German key stores also get German versions, but I don't know if Paradox even has official German key sellers.
