Well, I think we know why the Chinese managed to resist that long :p

Anyway, the war in China is basically over and forces needed there should drop with time. We better watch out what the heck the US are up to. And the army should prepare a few homengun for overseas...

I'm quite pleased with the performance of our BCs. Sure, we lost 3 of them, but they took down 2 BBs, 1 CV and 2 DDs with them and probably damaged other ships, too. We got more than we could ask for in that regard.

The problem is that even if our ships are not lost, they are damaged (sometimes heavily) and have to be escorted back to Japan. This takes time and time is on the US side, since they have much greater economic capabilities.

True, you don't have the industrial or economic capabilities of the US, but if you keep up the pressure as best you can, you might be able to keep them in check long enough for you to finish the war in China, which means that you would be able to turn most of your Industrial capacity toward your navy and air force.

That was a bloodletting of the American navy. It's a shame Saipan may fall.

Yes, in the long term this is unacceptable. Not only because of in-game consequences of losing Saipan (a base which is close to Japan and several strategic islands), but also because of the rules I created - if the enemy control Japan's core territory, then the game cannot be considered "won", no matter what.

Adm. Yamamoto: IJN Akagi

Our large carriers are better at basing aircraft from. Stop. Even if we can't fill them to full capacity the larger flight decks, heavier hulls and more air armaments shall be of better use when we are restricted. Stop. My suggested fleet set ups contain all near full strenght ships. Stop. These will be going up against already damaged ships from the last engagement, so hopefully we shall be senting battle ready fleets against battle damaged American ones who are at the disadvantage of dealing with the invasion. Stop. It is likely that we shall take more damage, and possibly the loss of a ship or two, but we can do some heavy damage again in the process. Stop.

My rationale in aircraft production is to allow a tactical reserve since the suprise delaration of war, and rapid deployment has taxed our exsiting CAG reserves. They need to be bolstered to full operational capacity. Stop. Otherwise half our fleet shall be sat at port waiting for aircraft, and the rest awaiting repair of their hulls after an enagement....Stop

This kinda sounds like a backward Pearl Harbour ;)

Looks like you need an Imperial mediator in the gameplay thread :D Which is part of the fun. But looks like the Admirals and Generals are becoming a bit cocky when it comes to the war in China, even though that China still have a massive amount of troops and is not finished by a long shot.

Mountains, bad supply/Infrastructure and alot of enemy troops are what you're still looking at in China, so i think it might take as much as a year still before you're done with them.

Yes, in my objective opinion General Cybvep is the only person in the Imperial General Headquarters who did not succumb to overwhelming optimism when it comes to the Sino-Japanese War.

China will cost us more, that's for sure. Even terrain alone makes any operations there costly. The good thing is that the nationalists no longer have the support of the Chinese communist. The more divided the Chinese are, the better.

I still laugh when I check the old posts and read about predicted 1-year campaign in China :).

China is currently a secondary theatre, imo. We do have sufficient land forces if another country should attack us by land, but we lack the means to fight off the nava part of the invaders. Whether or not we pacify the westernmost Chinese provinces is basically irrelevant since we already sit on their industry and their resources. In a more realistic game, their armies should shatter without us even attacking them in force.

Yeah, but those plans did not account for an out-of-proportions Chinese army. Having known the size of the Chinese forces, we might as well had started invasion of the USA in 1940 :p

I agree, all the other generals and admirals seems to think that the war is over in China, while you still need to make the last push to kill them off, and that's going to be an expensive push.
