hi paradox, this are my suggestions for EU4 (sry for my bad english)
new concepts of "Ideology/Opinion", "Population", "Trade Aggrements", "Companys"
more influence between countries
-political = if i reach Dip Tech 5 (year 1466) "Propaganda with Printing Press" (which was historically in the HRE discovered in the year 1440) will be available and it can be used to
focus my country to a target (and get stuff like prestige, legitimacy, papal influence, ...)
and in the same time it will push the new "Ideology/Opinion" to other countries (bigger more developet countries are stronger by this)
and if this is strong enough the target country will perhaps embarging my rival/target.
if the influenced country has not Tech 5 this works not (because he needs a printing press).
if the influenced country is westernised this system is very dangerous for them because they are now under western influence
(= easy to influence for me if i am a real western country like england).
-cultural = if the influenced country is strong enough influenced,
then the "Population" will not want bad relations with me (any wars or embargos)
and if i conquere the influenced country, provinces from him will cost less ADM power to core
-trade & financial = if the influenced country is strong enough influenced,
then i can demand better "Trade Aggrements" in peace deals or in diplomatic deals
-companys = real traders/companys like east india trade company which can be placed to provinces and are generating trade power there and expanding from province to province
(not like merchants which only handels with the trade direction)
-loan = the same as trade & financial + enemy companys can take too loans but they give trade power instead of gold
-espionage = the same as trade & financial + endless ideas i had, i beg you paradoxe here to give the player much freedom like influence/converting/bribing enemy generals/units/diplomats/merchants/peasants/companys
and please add at least "Trade Aggrements", a real correct loan system and a deadly & tricky espionage system in this brilliant game with options (please with very much options!!!)
i think this ideas fills much aspects like financial & espionage of the eu4 period, for example the ottomans had to take very much loans from the englands in the turko-russian wars
and Albert Einstein said: financial attacks to an country are a higher danger for that country as a atomic bomb
(the same applies for secret organizations like the hashashins or masons which both infiltrated the ottoman administration and politics)
the inspiration for this was the Ottoman history and thank you Wiz if you read this, i like your DDs and your DLC Spotlights
Paradox you are the best if you never stop with your DLC policy
PS: the new "Population" value should be too influenced by "Propaganda", "Taxation", raids in provinces during wars (at the moment it will be done automatically by the troops but the ottomans for example never raided the land from their enemys except in wars if the soldiers were too weakened or if the islamic laws would allow it, like in big wars with big soldier casualitys which demanded then from the sultan to allow them to raid the lands and citys but every ottoman sultan was ever against a raid because they wanted to let the humans under their banner live in peace), ...
