So I started up a new game as the Count of Verdun in the Charlie start only to discover I'm 44 and have no heir waiting in the wings. So I marry the first (and only) Lustful woman in the land - 29 years old, but I take the Seduction focus as a backup plan.

Well, then I hit the event about my wife and I being unable to conceive and my courtiers now think me "less of a man".

Am I just out of luck, or can I potentially sex my way into a legitimized Bastard to keep the game going?

I know nothing about this event but you should be able to seduce women around you, right ? Maybe you can conceive a bastard with one them, and if so you can legitimise that bastard.

Well you are childless at the age of 44 so... and honestly I would have gone after someone much younger than the 29 year old if you're at that age. The younger they are the more time they'll have to sire your offspring! Also did you marry a lesbian? I find that to be the hardest hurdle to overcome so far as far as child bearing goes (only had one sire a child for me so far) your best bet right now I would think is to find a fertile woman you could seduce, to make up for your infertility.

I don't think that event actually makes it impossible to have kids with your wife. It just means your court is secretly laughing at you behind your back for your perceived inability to perform. Or something.

This happened to me a little while back. I had one son and my wife died, and for about 20 years I was cool with that, then I decided I wanted more brats so I remarried, shortly I got that event.

Shortly after that my wife got pregnant...

Very shortly after that about ten other dudes wives got pregnant.

The laughing stopped.

Well at least the husbands.

Well, first wife died in childbirth and my character then married his lowborn lover, so everything worked out in the end.

aeTCKjD.jpg

Not bad for a guy who didn't get started until his late 40s. And had I married again after my second wife died of Consumption, I'd probably have even more. As it stands, I'm curious when he'll finally go. I'd intended the screenshot to be a "In memorium" type thing, but he flatly refuses to die.
