The LK II was planned to have a cannon but the ones that were actually build and later sold to Sweden as Stridsvagn fm/21 had only two MGs.

Not what I had read. A few articles suggest that the Germany trialled a 57mm cannon in the LK turret, but that was too powerful and would have warped the chassis. So then they built two prototypes with a 37mm gun, at which point Germany lost the war and production stopped. The post-war constructed tanks that were sold to Sweden did have twin MGs only, though whether that was because the Swedes asked for that, Germany couldn't construct any more 37mm guns or some other reason is far less clear.
I've belatedly realised that not everyone follows Butterfly Effect (though you all should) so I'll copy over the announcement to here. Last Saturday the second Pippette was born, so I now have two daughters to distract me from getting any writing done. I hope that, in time, they will understand the importance of their father chronically the inevitable defeat of an alternate history Slovakia, but until they do there may be some delay in the production of the next chapter.

And how, given the normal (or slower than real time) update rate, are we to work out what a ‘delay’ is?

I was wondering about the missing updates, hopefully soon the little new one will sleep more and need changes less so that the parents gets time for other things.
First off congrats, and second, like you said who will ever know the difference. Priorities are obvious here, and im sure slovakia isnt going anywhere regardless

Congrats on the new addition to your family. I expect your daughters to know many, some may say too many, obscure details of British politics of the 20th century by age 6. Also, I expect frequent demands for 'tanks' within the El Pip household, with El Pip caving in once every so often and going into arcane detail about this or that tank or doctrine... you should watch out with calling it 'tankporn' though, as I'm not sure the results would be desirable if ever one of them decided to google that...
Always the realist... I was glad that you had a spat of more frequent updates (measured by El Pip standards). I guess we're back to the good old times I got to know just skimming through the comments on the Butterfly Effect, with people making up songs, having conversations, and the daring ones speculating on the possibility of another update that year. Keep coming back, and we'll keep reading. In the meantime, enjoy your family time.
In some sense, it is actually good that the update pace will slow down once more -- since I lost my interest in active gaming a long time ago, so has my activity on this forum faded into obscurity and only a selected few threads keep popping up in my notifications list. Therefore, the longer this AAR exist, the longer I will keep visiting the Paradoxplaza .

The problem of course is that the two of them co-ordinate to stop their dad writing about Slovakian failure and defeat. Kids of today have no priorities.

We may need a new phrase to describe the lack of progress, this is so much slower than real time there must be a word for it.
I must be brutally honest - right now faster than real time would be wonderful! The newest one is in the not sleeping and vomiting phase, it is temporary (it was for her sister) but dear lord it is hard work to get through. There will come a time when I may wonder how the time went past so quickly, but it is definitely not right now.Congratulations Man! I admire the ambition, I was of course planning on training them up for the El Pip Inter-generational writing project, but aiming for them to have a thorough grounding in tanks and knowledge of characters such as the inestimable Oliver Stillingfleet Locker-Lampson by the age of 6 is quite something. Perhaps worth the attempt, even if it may be a tad ambitious. On which note, look forward to Locker-Lampson making an appearance in the distant future (i.e a few updates time).

Thanks for reminding me quite how long my sentence is. Mrs Pip is a secondary school teacher, so I intend to rely on her to cover the whole teenage section.

Good News, an update is imminent(ish). I had intended to finish the next Butterfly update, but then I had such a T&T idea I had to write it. Probably coming to a forum near you sometime tomorrow.
Did that bit twice and then have watched from far...8 times. I prefer the latter. Probably near the place you are, I began calling mine "walking & squawking" I treasure when they begin speaking that new language and expect you to understand and then the looks you can get when you answer in your version of that tongue.
"Tomorrow" being a relative term in Pippian Quantum Mechanics, meaning any and all future time spectrum which is not today.

The smallest one is just starting to babble, not yet at the expecting a reaction phase she's just delighted to have made a noise that isn't screaming. Not that she has stopped doing that on occasion. You are starting to grasp how these things work.

We return, but not to Bratislava, instead we are in London where the Allied High Command is discussing the very grandest of strategy. Mostly. Sort of.
"You all mocked the idea, but who is laughing now." Montgomery didn't even try to hide his smugness.
"We didn't mock the plan." Alanbrooke corrected him. "We mocked you for 'losing' an Airborne Army."
"They weren't lost." Montgomery bristled. "They were deployed on Operation Boreal Allotment."
"Did you actually order them there?" Eisenhower asked.
"Yes." Montgomery said.
"Were those orders issued after the units had already got there. Perhaps several weeks after?" Eisenhower pushed further.
"Perhaps." Montgomery shifted his feet.
"The important point is that they have ended up in the right place." Alanbrooke moved to wrap the meeting up before Patton found them. There was only so long Patton could rant before he noticed the room was empty.
"You want me to go along with the pretence this was deliberate?!" Eisenhower could barely contain his shock.
"It is that or you explain to FDR, and Congress, that you lost an entire Airborne Army for three months." Alanbrooke explained.
"Not to mention the circumstances in which you found out where they were." Tedder chipped in.
"I knew nothing about this!" Eisenhower thundered.
"You were Supreme Allied Commander sir, you were supposed to know." Bradley said. "It's 100,000 men sir."
"In any event, as you Americans say the buck stops with you." Alanbrooke stared intently.
There was a long pause.
"Congratulations on the successful execution of Operation Boreal Allotment." Eisenhower sighed as Montgomery beamed.
