I´m really concerned about the possibility of France and UK to build masses of industrie in the colonies. Helping Canada, Southafrica or Australia is fine, but transforming Algeria or Egypt into a industrial power house?

I really don't think you can ttransform them into "industrial power houses". IIRC, the regions around the nil-river could host not more than 1 factory. The region around Alexandria a little bit more, ofc, since it is tied to the popularity. I also don't think you should be and are able to finish the build up with everything (CF, Dockyards and maybe even some MF / transformation of CF) before the war starts, leaving the colonies with nothing but a few built up factories.

The number of availabel factory slots is limited by the local population. That means, as seen in World War Wednesday, that those colonies could support 1 factory. Egypt, which was technicly independant by 1936 but still under heavy influence of the UK which still controlled the suez channel, may support 4 factories in alexandria, because the population is centered around the nil, but those regions that would be out of axis reach only hold 1 factory at max.

Besides that you need to also take into account that that also means that you have to protect those colonies from the axis, to prevent them taking over those factories. Resources produced in colonies have to be shipped to the main land in order to be useable. That means colonies wont help you with anything, when the axis manage to effecively block your trade routes off.

Industrial technology have something to do with factory slots but I don't know how. The only advantage of concentrated industry is the extra slots but I don't know then you can use these slots.

Slots are ultimately limited by the population. Sometimes by increasing the infrastructure you can support more slots of course, but that wont be the case with those thinly populated colonies for sure. That what actually unlocks slots aside from that are the national focuses for "Industrial Effort" and "Military Effort", but only in pre-defined states.

As I understood, the concentrated industry only increases your industrial output - this means, you construct CF and equipment faster, but not that you are able to magically use more slots. Or am I wrong?

Edit: And, of course, what @LordOfWar16 said in the post above.

It did increase industrial output more disperenced industry but that have been changed to give more slots (maybe because the output advantage is overpowered), but I don't know then you get these extra slots. I guess it could be capital only because I did see Sweden have alot of factories in its capital but then it do have a decent population in that state.

About the number of factories in Egypt, it is actually way more then 1. 10 for Alexandria and Cairo. 8 for the province south of that. All together I count 38 slots in 1936 (WWW part 1).

Thats why we said that alexandria and cairo are exceptions to that. All others are basicly 1 factory states with some that have up to 6 factory states. You also need to take into acount, that the UK is rather limited in their factory space on mainland UK and needs to build quiet some docks to protect their trade routes, which are extremely important since resources from colonies need to be shipped to mainland UK in order to be useable and can be intercepted by submarines or convoy raiders. If germany takes alot of coast by occupying northern france for example, they could even consider building an propper surface fleet, while crippling your ship production by intercepting said resource deliveries.

On mainland UK they have 162 factory slots, which means that they have roughly 200 slots, excluding national focuses of course. In total germany has has over 200 slots available, but Würtemberg and Oberbayern were cut off in that frame.
94b7b5a0d924a4cd7e9cb93a3cb4372f.jpg

Technicly they shouldnt even have egypt, to be honest, since they were independant (on paper) by that time. They were still heaviely influenced by the UK, but only had direct controll over the suez channel.

You can see it in the Wednesday stream about Finland.
Here you go.

Concentreted industry is must have for small cautries simply to allow them to get more slots as they are more limited in buildup becous of smaller number of states, population and in some cases infrastucture.

As for dispersed industry in single player i can only think about Germany, in multiplayer it can be much more useful if you know that your enemy is going for strategic bombardment (doctrine resarch, model resarch, bomber production)

i wouldnt even say that germany should take dispersed industry, since if they arent beating the UK and/or soviet union by 1943 its pretty much over for them anyway if the US joins the allies. I rather produce more fighters to protect my factories than having them getting bombed to rubble less efficient.

Well that is what balancing is for. Right now they seems to have the same output efficiency but concentrated industry in some way allow more factories but I don't know then that advantage is applied.

It would depend, in my opinion. If your population e.g. can't support more then 8 factories, there is not much sense, in raising the cap to 12.
Dispersed industry should also raise the factory cap in later techs.
