I would like to expand my demesne and take a rich county from a count who really hates me (-90). What would be the best way to make him rebel so i can inprison him and take the county? He's part of a faction for independance but he's alone (~5%). He's also part of a plot to usurp a title, so i could enprison him but I have 80% chances of succes and in that case I will not be able to revoke his title without being tyrannical.

So, what can I do to push him to open rebellion? Thanks!

You could use your Chancellor to forge a claim on his lands, then you can revoke the title without the tyranny penalty...

Otherwise I guess raise his troops and keep them raised and when the penalty gets big, then make him Court Jester, add him to the the council and promptly fire him... if you use your spy master to make him leave the faction that can given him a negative opinion...

I am really not sure what the guarantees are about a vassal revolting even if you get them to -100%...

If he has more than one county, you can start a plot to revoke the excess. You could imprison him and hope for a failure there; if you do manage to throw him in jail, ransom him and wait for him to start another plot and do it again. Or get a really bad spymaster so your chance of success drops.

Tyranny-free revocation with a claim is always nice, but can take a while as well.

I don't think the court jester thing and hiring and firing him will do anything, because vassals don't seem to revolt based on opinion anymore.

I didn't know I could do this within my kingdoms... Guess I should have, hehe, this is still my first game. As for the opinion, its already almost maxed (negative) and it won't make him revolt, just take part in plots and factions, wich is not enough by itself.

Ok, i'll try to fabricate a claim and when my super good, but very old, spymaster dies, hopefully his plot will still be active and i'll try to arrest him before appointing a new spymaster.

Thanks

When you stop seeing tyranny as a thing you need to avoid at all costs, so many opportunities will open up for you. :)

Imprison him for the plot, then banish him. Why take just the title when you can grab his 401k as well?

Tyranny is a resource, use it!
