i realized that this mod has some very intreasting events as such;

thinking from a game play perspective i think developing MORE specific events TIED ONLY to provinces and always give choices to monarch in how to approach EACH or many OF ITS relam provinces independentlly;

to be clear i would say cetain events as "pillars of hercules", the corfu "question"; the sweet baleares options , etc

not to impose, but are not those type of events MUCH easier to make and at the same time more value to consistency of not having a late "dull" simulation in the last 2 centuries especially? not to mention that each countriy event file gets a "boost" in making diffrent choices, etc

what u think? ;)

I absolutely agree with you, and have tried to do this where it made sense. The Pillars of Hurcules is an old Aberration sequence that we didn't fully retool properly to do that, but its on my list for 6.33. The Bab/RedSea events were done by us, and are more 'generic' in this way.

There are some province events that have other triggers that limit who it might trigger for, like "religion = catholic" for example, or certain tech levels, DP sliders and the like.

In fact, my solution for Gaul/France to save myself the time of writing hundreds more events that might trigger for Auvergne, Occitania, Savoy, Burgunmdy etc etc it to start writing events for each of the provinces, and in this way create a strong body of interesting events that could happen for anyone.

The problem with province-based events are as follows:

1. You have to be careful with the triggers so they don't make bad sense should an unusual ownership occur (it happens all the time in this game!)

2. You can;t easily create a connected series of events, unless they are very close together in time, as ownership might switch between events, and there is no way of tying then to "the country that had it before" rather than just the province. (You can use the flag command to ensure that subsequent events happen only to the one who got the initial event, but you cannot 'track down' who had the first event if they have lost ownership of the province.

3. Because they can happen to more than one country, you can't include commands that are country specific, like monarch-leader-religious oriented commands.

This means that more intriguing event series, like civil wars, can't occur via the province-based events, because they are too limited or doomed tom buginess.

matty; simple "one time" events for ech province REGARDLESS of who owns it ( more disasters, inventions, tax boost, tax losses, etc)

reading your reply i think you might be thinking in a too complex way here. while you right about that, game play value can be added with such "one time" values; in both sp and mp would make players run "for" or "away" from/to any provinces, etc...sweet :D
