I don't need to point out that this thread is veering close to the line - please discuss respectfully, politely, or not at all. This being said, I'm going to clarify a few things here:
As others have pointed out, we've made the decision to rename the system to 'Political Paranoia'.
Paranoia is a difficult word. It can be interpreted as a direct statement upon the state of an individual's mental health; or as an institutional state. Regardless of what some might like to think, none of us are able to make the former assessment accurately - the intent behind the term was to indicate that the paranoia system, whilst heavily influenced by Stalin (or whomsoever might be the head of state), is to be a general representation of the atmosphere of suspicion prevalent in soviet politics during this era, as evidenced by outcomes such as the purges.
Since there are remarkably few words synonymous or near-synonymous to Paranoia in English, we instead decided to de-emphasize the connection to a specific person, but keep the term.
