FFS I played the mission twice "Abandoned Factory" first time I thought oh I probably just didn't pay enough attention. But no second time same BS, the mission is completed and the Lander comes down and sets down right on top of two of my Mechs destroying them, killing the Pilots.
If you want that useless cinematic of the Lander coming down before the Mission ends give me some indication on where my Mechs shouldn't be, tho lets not mention that that would mean as soon as there is only one enemy left I have to get out of that area asap since if I get a lucky shot on the mission ends and everything in the landing area dies. But for heavens sake give some indication where it is going to happen.....

There is an indicator when you move your mechs. The points are Red insted of white and you get a warning to a left that the dropship will land there.

That said i do not think that apart from direct mission extraction in the mid of the mission that it should be relevant and losses through that should not happen.

The indicator is definitely there. The visibility of it is poor given certain terrain. However, there is also a hover-text warning saying that it's dangerous to move where a ship is planned to land.

The truth is that colorblindness may be the issue here. For some people they may seem like a normal area. (and i stopped to read the side tips at some point sicne i believe i know all terrain effects)

No color blindness here. It's visible, but hard to distinguish when in desert environments or other shades or orange. That said, I've gotten used to looking over at my heat meter before I eagerly pound the FIRE button. I want the good kind of fire (at the enemy!) rather than the bad kind of fire (dude, I'm in flames!).
