They aren't, as far as I know :confused:

The Indians in India form several powerful states (Delhi and the likes), the Indians in North America form independent states as well (Dakota, Navajo and all the rest) and in South and Central America you've got the Inca's and the Aztecs.
I can't figure out which other Indians you're talking about....

there's simply no fun in playing indians, Swedenboy. They get no technology, and nothing happens until you get kicked by the Europeans ...

(probably someone will pass by now who played some indian tribe and conquered the world, but to my opinion this forum is frequented by geniuses WAY to much ;) )

Personally, I edited them out of the game (cept for the Iroquis, who I mangled to make them a semi-power by 1660ish rather than a monster with 3k ducats on hand).

I'll continue my crusade to get them officially removed from the game, since England and France have now historically colonized in 4 straight GC since I removed them.

Now I just to find a way to make Spain conquer the Aztecs and Incas. I'm thinking of making it event driven, but this seems like such a cop-out.

Smallpox:)

There's no way the Spaniards would have been able to take out the Aztecs/Incas with the meager forces they sent over initially. Smallpox absolutely ravaged the native Americans, making it easy for the several hundred Spaniards to take over.

Also, Pizarro basically lied his way into capturing and killing the Incan emperor, so that could be an event as well...

Make an event that creates revolt in those nations at that time (IRL they were both suffering either civil war or really weak monarchs) and/or make another event that disbands most of their army when the spanish discover them (smallpox)

There are a pack of events to address this over in the EEP forum. I'll take the credit (blame?) for the Aztec series; Captain Krunch did the Inca events:

EEP Aztec Empire

EEP Inca Empire

The Incan collapse is handled by events. Sorry, Duuk - nobody could think of any other way to do it.

The Aztec events still require Spain to actually invade and take territory. Consequently, they're less reliable than the Inca series.

I floated a proposal to weaken the NA natives too. Nobody ever posted a reply, so I don't know how the idea went over.

FWIW, revolts and plagues can't get the job done. The problem is that the AI can't maintain sieges in the American provinces (which have rotten supply values).

I'm really thinking of doing some research into the full details that caused the collape of the Aztecs and scripting a series of events that culminates in an "inherit" being called. Likely something along the lines of:

Code:
event = {
  id = NNNNN
  name = "The Conquest of the Aztecs"
  country = SPA
  random = no
  desc = "For all their culture and history, the Aztecs were simply overwhelmed by the guile and tricks that the Spanish conquistadors employed during the invasion of the New World. By allying with the opposition and taking advantage of the Aztec belief that Europeans were gods, the Spanish made quick work of the Aztecs."
  date = { day = 1 month = january year = 1500 }
  offset = 720
  deathdate = { day = 1 month = january year = 1600 }
  trigger = {
    war = { country = SPA  country = AZT }
    }
  action_a = {
    name = "Conquer the heathen through guile"
    command = { type = inherit which = AZT }
    command = { type = vp value = -100 }
   }
  action_b = {
    name = "We need no tricks to conquer the heathen"
    command = { type = vp value = 100 }
   }
}

edit: fixed the "code" thing.

PS -- Hey scenario people, I have a question.

How can I do a line wrap in the name/descs of the events?

Is it like C, where I end the " at the end of the line and then add a \ at the end?

I don't think you can do that in names, but you could try '\n' for the descriptions

No, the game itself does the wrapping inside the game. I mean in the event itself? How do I make it so I can type things and format them nicely without having it all be on one line that goes out 300 characters?

Yes, I have already created events that will guide the A.I. into conquering the Incas. But there are other ones which needs work, like the Lenape, Huron, Navajo, Maya.. etc. I would deal with them, but I don't know much about the details of them.

I think it would have been far less of a problem if the provinces in the Americas were made alot smaller. This would have allowed colonies to be constructed, without having the natives covering up all the territory. Another potentially nice idea, would have been to be able to kick the natives out of a provinces, then they would move into the nearest uninhabited province. But these ideas, if ever implemented, will have to wait until EU3.

The main problem with the NA natives is that the game grossly overstates their population base. The Iroquois are bigger than the English colonies until very late in the period.

Vaevictis, tech levels don't matter too much. The European armies can usually win battles. The problem is that the natives just keep cominmg back. Eventually you reach a tipping point where the AI just storms the native forts instantly, but until then you have to wait for sieges.

One thing too I noticed which I do not understand is the very common occurrences of white peace between NA Indians and European powers. I do not understand why a European power with just a puny, unguarded TP next to NA Indians, does not see it burned down. The war can last its full lenght (to white peace) with the NA Indian army of 15000 pacing back and forth in its lands while the neighbouring Province, ungarded and unfortified, sits untouched. I can understand native powers not conquering fortified citadels but hey, shooting some unarmed fur traders and priests and burning the damn camp should not be too hard.
