Has anyone else had problems with Indian and African nations randomly westernizing even though the only adjacent western provinces are trade companies?
Thanks

Basically , westernisation shouldn't be harder than it is, but criteria for STARTING westernisation should be way more harsh.
In my last game there seemed to be three sources of westernisation. First the colonisers caused the natives to reform and westernise, I westernised as Ethiopia after getting a border with Portugal in Brazil, then the Mamluks westernised a few years later and crushed down burning due to unrest, war with me and the Syrian rebels I supported. As there weren't even any Iberian cores left in North Africa, westernised Ethiopia cased a wave of innovation spreading over the continent. The only country left there that was still not westernised was Jolof - because they just came free in a rebellion.No. What I experienced is juts westernization cascade: Circassia westernizes (by touching Genoa), then QQ westernizes, then Timurids westerinizes, etc...

I know you're being sarcastic, but there are still people who think that 18th Century Chinese armies only used spearmen (which is ridiculous). What? Didn't you know, historically, Chinese technology was only on-par with Air's technology.
And extremely backwards compared to Ireland and Iceland.

What? Didn't you know, historically, in 1820 the Chinese navy was exactly as effective, ship for ship, as the British navy.
