Indestructible Buildings
I have two buildings that cannot be destroyed. These buildings are in separate locations and were zoned at separate times. There are only 40k citizens so its a low pressure map. They were zoned as industrial, but I have had this happen with commercial as well but that resolved when I moved the road. (The problem persists with no mods and I have no workshop grow-able assets in use).
What happens is this:
- You first notice a massive traffic jam as you find that a building is calling all cars to it and I mean all cars, You can watch as 5 hearses at a time all collect bodies and then immediately return, if you let it run it will receive a constant infinite stream of deliveries.
- So I tried to bulldoze it, the dust cloud appeared but the building remained (as its derelict model). It immediately rebuilt and resumed calling for infinite constant deliveries (100's of deliveries a day if the traffic can take it).
- It was impossible to bulldoze it, though the dust cloud always raises when you try. I de-zoned it, the building still remained but did stop operating and requesting deliveries.
- I removed all the roads around it and double checked all zoning was cleared. The building is still there, I have even built roads through the building (it destroys it when placed but doesn't remove the building) and cars drive straight through it like its not there.
- I used the terraform tool to change the ground underneath it and it either became buried or hovered above the ground.
- I placed roads around it such that I could zone underneath it without the building touching a road and when the zones populate they leave all squares underneath the building unfilled so they know its there but I can place a monument or park right on top of it and have it operational, the 3d models merge together.
- Over time the building does keep trying to re-activate, the scaffold go's up and as soon as it reaches the top it resets back to its abandoned building model and starts over again.
- I have no idea if it is related but at about the same time I found I always have one generic industrial building in need of raw materials, if i bulldoze it a different random one immediately displays the icon, I even demolished all generic industry and rebuilt it and the problem immediately returned (the area that complains is very near to a cargo port. (I have ore, oil, farm and forestry in equal amounts and exactly 39 4x4 generic industrial [import 300, export 2000 - equal across 5 resource types] 2 Harbours at each end of a highway with no more than 20 industrial buildings per highway connection - I have had much more intensive maps and had no problems with raw materials) This is on the Monkey Island map so nothing should ever be too far away from anything else.
The 'ghost' buildings are annoying but can be lived with for now but the demand problem is really bringing me down.
Any suggestions would be great.
