Independent with Liege Expenses?

I'm an independent king of Eire. Why should I have liege expenses? Granted, they're only 0.07 per month, which is negligible, but it still bugs me.

You inherited one of your vassals recently?

I don't think so. I did just switch rulers, as my former one died.

And your new ruler used to be a vassal?

Incomes/expenses are shown per ruler, not per realm, and for the last month (I think, maybe longer).

The expenses were slowly reduced over time, and eventually went away. It took a year or two. My new ruler was a son and vassal of the previous ruler.
