I'm sure that the game will include some sort of "revolters" list, with a couple of countries that could become independent during the game period.
So in principal, yes, I think there might be a chance that provinces in rebellion will constitute a new country.

But I really hope rebellions will be handled a bit more subtle and complex than just 5000 revolters springing up in a province EU-style.

I'd hope considering the complexity of the independence movements in the Vicky time frame.

Look at Ireland, Vicky's gotta cover the Home Rule parlimentay stuff with Parnell and Gladstone, the Fenian terrorist-type stuff plus the Easter Uprising, which is the only event that resembles the battles we see in EU2.

Exactly; the game needs to find a way to include Freedom Fighters(I won't use the word terrorists :p), political sollutions and so forth. If it can manage it all...well we're going to have one helluva good game!

Most important and powerfull independance movements should be: Polish and Italian. Both nations formed in this period most important independance organizations and uprisings in Europe. I hope that they movements will be much more important than Ukrainian or Czech independance movements which were less important.

Poland, Poland! It's a shame that VIC starting in 1835 misses our November Uprising in 1830, the biggest one in XIX. Actually, it involved mainly regular Polish army of so-called Congress Kingdom (autonomus within Russia after Vienna Congress). And was almost successful. Almost...

And was almost successful. Almost...

Maybe wasn't so good ;) but it was most important Polish uprising after 1815 and before 1918. I think that Congress Poland should also exist in Victoria but with much more limited autonomy.

Krakow IS free :) at least for the first ten minutes.

The list of states that became independent in Victoria's timeline is long. Most right at the end, admittedly, and others temporarily. I'm hoping for a level of detail that provides separate tags for Ruthenia and the Ukraine :)

Well, if it wasn't for unfortunate battle of Ostroleka, who knows... Anyway, I doubt if there will be any possibility to play Kongresówka. Probably will be just part of Russian empire. But, in HoI you can play puppets (IIRC), so maybe here will be something similar?

Those close ones are the most painful ones to hear about; Ireland's certainly her her fair share :/ Oh well, I'll just have to plat a game as Germany, and liberate Ireland from England and Poland from Russia(I'll evne give them Lithuania to make up for Danzig) Then all three of my nationalities wil lbe happy ;)

Hey, hey, hey! What about Germany? I'd say that is THE independence movement of the time. That is if you count Italian unification as independence movement.

i just hope we dont get rebellions every single year of 30000 super soldiers like in eu2 =/ its just unrealistic and boring. how about a more serious rebellion like once per generation depending on the life span of your average rebellious worker.

I think that it surely wasn't independence movement. Difference between Polish / Italian situation and situation of Germans is obvious for me. Italians were dominated by FOREIGN powers (Poland doesn't even exist) when Germans have two strong and powerful states : Prussia and Austria. I think it is very important difference, and I can't agree with someone speaking about German independence movment in XIX centuary.

But then again, most of Italy was ruled by smaller Italian countries. Sure, Austria did have a large chunk but press on the word most.

Germany actually could be seen the same way, as Austria wasn't that German either. And the minor German states had their sovereignity limited by foreign powers like France, Austria and Russia who weren't willing to let them unite.

Actually my point isn't that much in arguing for the German issue for being an independence movement, but against Italian events been seen as one.
