I've set mid-game at year 2600, which in retrospect is a whoooooole of a lot more than I personally expected it to be... Since I made it to 2450 I'd rather not scrap this game, but I would like to up the challenge.
Can this be done through console commands? If possible, I'd like to change difficulty and crisis strength.

Don't think so, but it is possible with my mod, see signature.

Thanks!!! I'll try the mod :)

@PanzerMan7
Last time I played was when Utopia came out, so yes, learning a lot of ropes right now. And what better way to do that than on a Huge Galaxy with no year limit, amirite? :))) Mid-game is at 2600..... I'm never doing this again :)
I did start another game, with an assimilator race this time (made them look insectoid and called them Collectors :), this time with earlier mid-game, but I'd like to at least get to the mid-game in my current playthrough, and my empire deserves better enemies. Otherwise it's just a lot of micromanaging the planets.. And nothing bad came out of the L Cluster either, after all i've been through to actually open an L Gate and to secure the entire stellar cluster that contained it and all the build up of 'looks like someone sealed it on purpose'. A bit anticlimactic so far, except for a fight with a fallen empire.
