It would be possible to interfere in the internal politics of another country? For instance, bribe a governor so it became less loyal, or even a general to precipitate a civil war?

I think it would be funny, because it could give smaller countries a chance to destabilize big empires making an opportunity for conquest, or at least survivor a little more. :D

Oh interesting, and if a I want to interfere in the next ruler to politically benefit may country? I don't know even if someting like that is possible right now, but maybe it would give diplomacy some interesting nuances. For exemple, I spend some resources pumping an heir in another country and when he becomes king, he will make an alliance with me.

You can bribe a foreign governor/general to become more disloyal and in so doing destabilize them - that powerful general may now be more interested in a civil war than fighting you... ;)

You can also make your ruler friends/rivals with other foreign characters

Don't make sense to me. Being rival to somebody don't make you friend to that persons rivals.

Maybe it gives bonuses on prominence and popularity like in EU4 gives you prestige and other stuff to have rivals. Or maybe as mentioned, character rivaling people you are rivaling, will like you more, a very handy thing if you are very close to get a character from becoming an ally but are out of diplomatic optioms already and still cant. Rivaling its rival might give you that +20 that you were lacking to make him your ally. ;)

I suppose it's a "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" mechanic. Like how Ptolemy and Seleucos are friends and rivals to Antigonos at the game start.
But Ptolemy and Seleucus are a special case. Both was attacked by Antigonus at different times and at one Point Seleucus fleed to Ptolemy. Neither have any friendship with Cassander who was harassed much worse by Antigonus at the timeframe of the game. I think they have a friendship because Selecus fleed to Ptolemy more than because they are rivals to Antigonus, even if you can say it was Antigonus who caused Seleucus to flee.

Maybe it gives bonuses on prominence and popularity like in EU4 gives you prestige and other stuff to have rivals.
Yes something like that sound like a more resonable thing to me.

Could work.
