If I understood well, the Historical Immersion Project's aims to preserve and increase the game's historicity, especially the realms. In this case, there's a drastic ahistorical naming in the case of Serbia (Rashka) at the Old Gods start date.

One of the bigger historical errors of CK2 is the Duchy of Rascia as a predecessor to the Kingdom of Serbia. While there can be said that there is a certain amount of justification for Serbia to be internally divided by duchies, one of which is Rashka, that was simply not the case for the independent pre-regal title realm.
I'm not entirely sure how to implement it, but solutions would to simply rename the Duchy to Serbia and leave it as such (just like in the case of Finland, I believe, at least in the vanilla game) or make it into a Nordic-style petty kingdom, whearas Serbia is a "Grand Principality" reigned by a duke-level tier "Grand Prince".

This way, there's no reason to apply a 12th century term to a three centuries earlier time period. I've noticed this confusion stems from some internet boards and certain (but not all) Wikipedia articles; however, it is completely incorrect.
