Hi!

I spotted that my panzer divisions have incorrect base speed.
Interestingly the build-in SS-Panzerdivision (Medium tank + motorized) have correct base speed.
I have already removed any self-propelled vehicles from my template hoping it helps but no luck, still wrong base speed.
I only spotted this in the middle of my Barbarossa as Germany. Not sure if it was bad or not in early game.
I moved back one division to berlin where is no mud, cold or enemy air superiority or any other disturbing factors to test its base speed but its still wrong.
(Those factors should not affect base speed btw, only actual speed, but I tested it just to be sure.)
I have Expert AI enabled.
Anybody else experiencing this with or without Expert AI?
If I start a new game with or without Expert AI, the base speed for the initial panzer divisions are correct.
In the Division Designer the speed is also correctly shown.
But in the Unit Details and in practice its bad. My divisions moving slowly.

Nice find! You should report that as a bug. What happens if you mix in light SPART etc with Medium tanks?
Adding Light SP Art + Medium SP AA instantly resets base speed to 4. :( Seems the only safe way is using only 1 type of armored battalion.
If I can reproduce it without mods, I will make a bug report.

If you don't have enough equipment for a division then the crew for those items walk (at 4km/h). It's a shame they don't get a lift on other vehicles but I guess this was easier to calculate.

This is usually a sign you don't have a stockpile of an item you've just added.

Yes, seems lack of equipment caused it. Now I understood that I should pull back my armored/motorized corps to the capital for any reorganization of the division's structure. After they are at 100% equipment I can send them to the front again. Actually I like this feature, it's realistic. :)

You don't have to move them. Just make sure you have the equipment in reserve before switching. Then so long as they are not in active combat, and have supply they will get replenished quite fast.
If you don't want to build a big stockpile of the new equipment before adding it, then make a copy of the template, add your new equipment, then switch divisions to the new template 1-by-1 as equipment becomes available.

Two things that can cause that:

Great War Tanks are classed as Light Tanks, but they are extremly slow. So if you have a Light Tank batallion in your divisions but only Great War Tanks left, don't be surprised that your division is slowed down.

Also missing equipment reduces base movement speed, as already correctly observed and explained here.
