The Starnet AI improvements are so massive as regarding to AI fleet usage that you should consider working that into the base game. Base game AI sucks at stategic use of fleets, it lemmingtrains them into your stations, allowing them to be defeated in detail. Starnet AI attacks your systems only with sufficient force and tends to keep its fleets close, making defeat in detail much more difficult. It is also more aggressive at conquering your empire when it has the upper hand, effectively capturing system after system. It is just night and day better.

Consider working in those improvements into the base game.
