Greetings AAR enthusiasts.
Over the past months I have had many disparaging comments made about my style of play and some of the strategic decisions I make and advise on a regular basis. Of course I understand that most people’s limited intellectual capacity is the root cause for the majority of these outbursts, but I had thought that I would set down in writing some of my thoughts on these matters for you to mull over, so that you might see the error of your ways and the justification of my own.
Unfortunately language is not a gift – or skill, if you like – that I possess, and so I have conscripted MrT to assist me in this matter. Since he is currently “between AARs” - so to speak - I figured that he’d have enough time to do a bit of this for me. Further, it is my desire to remain “Incognito” for the time being, and therefore I have also asked him to post my musings under his moniker rather than doing so myself and under my own. Out of the goodness of his heart – and the depths of my pocket, I might add – he has agreed to do this. I can only hope that his liver will survive the exercise.
Given the body of knowledge that I have presented him, it might take him a little while to translate my instructions into the words that will mean something to you, so please bear with us both if these posts come a little slowly. I should also forewarn you that I couldn’t possibly relay everything that I have to say, or this would become too unwieldy a process for MrT to pursue, and therefore I give you only a very short time frame in the game, and only over a limited area, in the hopes that this will suffice to instruct you.
He and I will begin this process on the weekend, and therefore it would be most likely that he will be prepared to post the first full and detailed instalment on Monday or Tuesday.
Regards,
Incognito

Translator’s note:
The initial flood of material that Incognito has presented to me will take a little while to assemble into something vaguely presentable. Though, perhaps, this self-ascribed genius may be beyond most of us, I will do my best to try to translate what is presented to me into intelligible form. If I fail, at any time, in making a point clearly then just let me know and I’ll ask Incognito for further clarification.
I should also state that any errors in translation (English is not Incognito’s primary language) or misrepresentation of something that I have been given are mine, and I will bear full responsibility for them.
I will begin, however, by relaying something that Incognito said at the beginning of this project.
Regards,
MrT

Ahh. The beginning of a Grand Campaign game. I love to wake up fresh and alert; to begin exploring all the myriad of opportunities available to me; to consider my own psychology for the campaign: will I be aggressive or meek? Will I attack fast and furiously or will I slowly and quietly grind my opponents into the dust?
What country to play? There is hot debate on the forum – not just here in the AAR forum, but elsewhere as well – as to which country is the best, or the worst; which is easier or harder; which is more or less entertaining? The easy answer to this is that, to me, they are all the same and that each presents its own unique challenges and offers its own simplicities. I am also less attached, perhaps, to my countries than many other players would be. I have - and will continue - to play them all; equally and without prejudice. That, after all, is what a truly consummate and gifted player should be able to do.
The question, therefore, is less “what country should I play?” and rather “which country shall receive my special attention?”
There is always one country that stands out; one that merits particular care and attention. You merely have to look around, across the expanse of the globe, and it will eventually stand out. In the particular game that I will be using as a “platform” for explaining my tactics, it took me a little while to find it. Small, unassuming, one might almost think it was trying to hide amongst its German neighbours.
The Palatinat.
Ahh. Sneaky. Well, my dear little Palatinat, let’s see what you’ve got in you.
I like, generally, to prolong things…stretch them out a little. If ever I engage in full out-and-out warfare I always end up finishing the game too quickly and too easily. It is a measure of the intelligence running the country, I guess. At any rate, I like to tease my special enemy. I like to make it think like it has a chance. Then, just as it begins to spread its wings to fly, I like to snuff its lights out. It makes me laugh, to see the abject horror as I send my minions forward to crush this bug-like doomed strip of land. Muahahahahahaha.
Perverse?
You ain’t seen nothing yet.
You see, as I wait for this glorious climax of humiliation…
…well, perhaps we should wait until MrT has had a chance to do a little more transcription before I get too detailed about my play. We’ll come back to that later. In fact, just to make things even more interesting, I’m going to let MrT play The Palatinat. That should be fun, eh? Yes indeed. So here he will be, privy to my innermost thoughts, and all the while knowing that it is my one and only desire to destroy him. That will be sweet revenge for the beers I have to buy him. Yes indeed.
Alright then, it’s settled. A multiplayer game between MrT and I. I can hardly wait to hear him squeal.
Until next time then.

Having transcribed this first bit, I’m somewhat apprehensive about what the future will bring. Perhaps, though, you’ll allow me to interject a few musings of my own into this AAR so you can read this from both of our perspectives.
Since this particular game will be played as merely an instructive backdrop to Incognito’s modus operandi, I might as well take up the gauntlet and give the Palatinat a whirl. And so, as I begin my task of being the guinea pig, my first thoughts are…
“Bring it on.”
